Description is here.. Sign-up to be a presenter in BA 2139 on the chalk board (I know, how "old school."). Everyone should attend (but you can sign-up here if you want to).
Fast, furious, action: enjoy!
A website is only as good as the design of the information that goes into it. Having interesting and compelling content becomes worthless if it is not designed in an equally interesting and compelling manner. Why is this important? Anyone who has spent any amount of time working with Drupal, can spot a Drupal site from a mile away. For many, using stock themes is a viable solution. However, corporate websites, community activists, and many others need to go that extra mile to make their websites stand out.
Drupal 6 will have support for OpenID in core. Microsoft, AOL, Wordpress.com, Digg, SixApart and Verisign have all pledged (and in some cases rolled out) support for it. So, what's the big deal?
This session will cover some background on Identity2.0, what it enables and how it changes the way we approach our online identities. We'll look at how the protocol works: specifically discussing the security considerations and implications. We'll also cover how to use the drupal modules, with some demos. We'll finish the hour with a look at the possibilities this technology can enable.
This session will provide an introductory look at Drupal module development. The target audience would be those with some familiarity with PHP & MySQL development, but need some help to get "drupalized". We'll cover the following topics:
Hi
Can we please have a session that outline the performance power needed to run Drupal or ways to tweak Drupal I currently have a soon-to-lunch-drupal-site on a hosting provider with hostmonster but my log and slow load time indicate that I need to upgrade.
I would like this session to talk about shared hosting plan vs dedicated server vs VPS. Topics to cover might include:
1) Many times of Drupal system ( community, personal, news, etc and how it affects performance)
2) How to optimize Drupal for better performance including database selection (MyISAM vs InnoDB, etc )
An open discussion about the experiences people have had selling Drupal to corporations.
Topics could include:
Common objections
Concepts they struggle with
Features they respond most to
Technical hurdles
The idea is to compile a set of best practices for getting corporations to adopt Drupal. It would be great to hear from people who have had experience selling Drupal internally.
Hello Everyone,
I recently participated in the creation of a Drupal based website that allowed users to create description of physic places in the world and mapping these locations on a map.
The outcome is pretty sweet, it generates a map on the frontpage and a GeoRSS feed. The GeoRSS feed url can be fed into Google Maps to see the locations mapped.
I would like to find out what you would interested in finding out about GeoRSS and what is possible with this technology.
Userpoints is a module that allows users to be awarded points for participating in a web site (e.g. posting content, commenting, ...etc.)
With Userpoints 2.x, a flexible and extensible API has been put in place to allow additional modules to be developed to expand where points can be gained/lost, as well as actions to be performed when points are gained/lost.
This session covers the trio of CCK, Views and Panels as a toolkit for site builders, virtually eliminating the need for custom modules for content type and display.
Note: this is a combo session on the same subject held in Toronto DUG in March and April. The presentation part, and the hands on part.
There may be interest in it from those who did not attend.
